There is something powerful about putting young people in a room where they can learn, ask questions, meet people, and begin to imagine what is possible for them.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
That was one of the clearest takeaways from the previous Ghana Youth Tech Summit (GYTS)<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n The summit\u2019s event records showed over 2,000 people <\/strong>attended, while participant feedback recorded an overall 4.6 rating from 56 ratings<\/strong>. More importantly, the comments reveal something that numbers alone cannot capture: people left with new ideas, inspiration, and a stronger desire to pursue their ambitions.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n One participant, Nathan Darko, described the event as educational and inspiring, saying it encouraged many young people to do more.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Another participant, George Duah Awere, called the program insightful and inspirational, adding that the experience influenced him to pursue his dreams.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n For Enoch Boakye, the value was in discovering how much he still had to learn.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cI thought I knew something, but I didn\u2019t know much.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n And for Emmanuel Sarpong, the hope was even more direct: he wanted to see future editions include more employers and create more opportunities for young people.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n These responses point to a bigger story about Ghana’s young people.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n These young people are looking for access.<\/strong> Access to knowledge. That is where the Ghana Youth Tech Summit becomes the platform to build these connections<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n It creates a space where young people can encounter ideas they may not meet in their everyday lives and connect with others who are also trying to build something.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n For some, that could mean discovering a new career path. For others, it could mean meeting a potential collaborator, learning about entrepreneurship, understanding emerging technologies, or simply finding the encouragement to take an idea seriously.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n The feedback from the previous summit is a reminder that sometimes the most important outcome of a youth event is not what happens on stage.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n It is what happens afterwards.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n A young person goes home and starts learning a new skill.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Another decides to pursue an idea.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Someone meets a person who opens a door.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n A founder finds a connection.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n A student begins to see technology not simply as something they consume but as something they can use to build. As Ghana’s digital economy continues to evolve, these connections matter.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n The question is no longer simply whether young people can access technology. It is whether they can turn access into skills, businesses, careers, innovation, and meaningful opportunities.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n The Ghana Youth Tech Summit is positioning itself within that conversation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n And if the response from its previous edition is anything to go by, there is a clear appetite among young people to be part of that future.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n The next question is, what happens when even more of them come together?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n That is the opportunity GYTS presents\u2014not just to attend another summit, but to meet, learn, build and discover what might be possible when Ghana’s young people are given the room to connect.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Ghana Youth Tech Summit.
